Cloud & Architecture Transformation
Modern storage strategies increasingly require data to move between traditional infrastructure, Object Storage and cloud environments.
-
Cloud migration initiatives
-
S3 adoption
-
Object Storage modernization
-
Hybrid cloud strategies
Business & Vendor Strategy
Storage migrations can also support wider enterprise transformation initiatives.
-
Vendor-to-vendor migration
-
Data center exits
-
Cost optimization
-
Reduction of vendor lock-in

Frequently Asked Questions
01.
What is storage migration?
Storage migration is the process of moving data from one storage infrastructure to another. It may involve replacing legacy hardware, moving data to the cloud, changing storage vendors or transforming data between NAS, CAS, Object Storage, S3 and other storage architectures.
02.
What is enterprise storage migration?
Enterprise storage migration involves moving large volumes of business-critical data between enterprise storage platforms while maintaining data integrity, accessibility, governance and operational continuity.
04.
Can CAS data be migrated to S3?
Yes. Interlock supports CAS-to-S3 migration. DataForge Classic by Interlock Technology is purpose-built to transform CAS protocol data directly into S3-compatible Object Storage.
06.
Can storage be migrated between different vendors?
Yes. Interlock supports vendor-to-vendor storage migration projects across legacy NAS, Object Storage, S3 and cloud environments.
08.
Can storage migration run while production systems remain operational?
Migration throughput can be controlled and throttled to reduce the impact on production servers, applications, storage systems and networks.
01.
What is storage migration?
Storage migration is the process of moving data from one storage infrastructure to another. It may involve replacing legacy hardware, moving data to the cloud, changing storage vendors or transforming data between NAS, CAS, Object Storage, S3 and other storage architectures.
03.
Can Interlock migrate NAS data to S3?
Yes. Interlock supports NAS-to-S3 migration as well as CIFS-to-S3, NFS-to-S3 and other file-to-object storage transformations.
05.
Can Interlock migrate REST repositories?
Yes. Interlock supports REST-based repository migrations including REST-to-S3 scenarios and HCP REST modernization projects.
07.
How is migrated data validated?
Interlock uses SHA256 source-to-target validation. A hash is generated when data is successfully read from the source and compared with the data written to the target. Any mismatch is identified as an exception in migration reporting.
09.
What target platforms can Interlock migrate data to?
Targets can include NAS, S3-compatible Object Storage, AWS, Azure, Dell ObjectScale, Dell PowerScale, NetApp StorageGRID, Pure Storage FlashBlade and other modern enterprise storage architectures.
